HADES LADIES

Scheduling scheduling scheduling scripting blocking to-do listing.. thank God I know what I want.  Oh well, over rehearsal sucks anyway.  I think I almost always prefer to be on the under side.  Aw just listen to me—making the best of scheduling nightmares.  It’s an aesthetic, right?  Anyway, tomorrow is another 2 ta 10.. 6 different sections rehearsing…doesn’t sound like under rehearsal huh… very fun and exciting things… dancers talking, yall, dancers talking, actors dancing, actors sharin’ weight, yall… I have yet to be disinterested, so I’d say it feels like the key fits.  I need sunglasses for my tired eyes and this computer screen.  Now I can really appreciate that the motto for New Works Fest is “The Festival is Now.”  Process.  My process right now is scrambling over emails and rep tape and I keep thinking ohhhh yay as soon as THAT is done I’ll be chillllllin… anyway, I’ve come to terms and am totally happy and accepting that it will never happen hahahaah  this hustle is the relish for the hot dog… then what’s the hot dog? haha.. the THING. the hot dog is… the thing. Sitting in the studio… here comes everyone!  Little Dragon warm up tonight :) Working on “money” (Caitlin’s Hard for the Money wild scheming shoulder padded excitement) and “Ice Cream” (with briefcases).

Last day of January.  Nailing anything down with a cast of 18 es muy dificil, but I’m skipping ballet class right now to do just that.  Besides, I’m sick of texting everyone the day before their rehearsal.  We are right on track for full runs by mid february.  Recording monologues this weekend with Taylor, costume shop appointments next week, and 8 hours of rehearsal tomorrow.  Though we’ve been rehearsing since the first day of school this semester, tomorrow will be our first day having a full cast at any point. As far as text goes: I have to say, I’m into silence right now (excuse…?).  For me, Hades Ladies, on a textual basis, wants less to do with particulars at this moment and more to do with noise and the noise of words in general.  talky talky talky…  Thank my greatest goodness for Jon Cook and Tim Stafford and everyone with their patience and trust.  But, after the work we’ve gotten done in 2 weeks, I think patience and trust are not in short supply! To ice cream and egg yolks! CRACK MYSELF OPEN NOW! (and this is collaboration.)
